The answer to Friday’s “Where’s Choppy?” post is here.
Today’s Dog Walk Challenge post is here.
On this day in 1914, a pitcher named Babe Ruth debuted for the Boston Red Sox, going seven innings and giving up five hits. A few years later, Babe Ruth was traded to the New York Yankees, stopped pitching and switched to the outfield. In New York, Babe Ruth went down in history as one of the greatest hitters to ever play the game.
And this is as good an excuse as any to post this picture.
Awesome! 🙂

I think you are right about Schooner. Choppy looks like he is ready to “play ball!”

I know that I’ll be considered “un-American” 😉 from now on, but I’ll go with Schooner: it’s not my game either. 😉

I think it’s a game you almost have to grow up with to enjoy – it has a certain rhythm to it that is not like other sports. Plus, it’s very stats-based – if you grow up with it, you know all the random facts and figures that you would have to devote a lot of time learning if you don’t grow up with it.

As fas as this game goes, this dog here 😉 is too old to learn new tricks. 😉 It’s enough that I have learned a few things about football. 😉
Have a great day,
Pit

So long as you can talk about one, I don’t think anyone is calling you un-American (and in Texas, I think football is the more important one to know something about!).

You may be right there, with football in Texas.
