Howlidays: Horseradish Month

I, for one, am a big horseradish fan. Choppy is, however, disappointed to find out there are no actual horses involved in horseradish.
No horse or radishes? False advertising!

We just need to find a lawyer! 😉

Choppy… let us leave the horseradish to the others and head for the bacon ice cream!

This is most excellent advice.

A whole month for horseradish and only a day for bacon?? Go figure!

I guess horseradish needs all the publicity it can get. Bacon already has more attention than it knows what to do with!

I like horseradish, and can still see my Dad answering the door one Sunday with his eyes streaming. I was naturally concerned, but he laughed and said it was his own horseradish which was a ‘little bit stronger’ than he thought. Such a happy day, especially as the idiot I was living with was all macho and piled his plate with the stuff despite Dad’s warning. Not only did his eyes water, but he couldn’t talk. Dad just grinned (he didn’t like him anyway), as the rule of the house was if you put it on your plate, you had to eat it. 😀 😀 😀

Great rule…funny memory!

I must admit I laughed until I cried, the jerk.

Oh, he got his just desserts on that one! What a fantastic story!

I remember using a whole tub of hot curry powder in his curry after he complained I didn’t make them strong enough!

I love horseradish too. It is often used in Bavarian dishes, like smoked fish or boiled beef. 😉

I’m extremely fond of it – we have a lot of people of Bavarian ancestry around here, so I get plenty of it when I am out to eat!

Just a little on roastbeef, as long as there’s some mayo.

You can keep your mayo – I go straight for the horseradish.

haha On the other hand, I doubt even Choppy could balance an actual horse on her head!:D

I bet she would try to balance it, though – at least if there was the promise of a treat at the end.

I like stirring in horseradish cream into a kale slaw which I pan-fry.

I’ll take your word for the deliciousness on anything involving kale.

I’m with Choppy. I’m not a fan of horseradish. Bacon and ice cream would be much better!

I’ll take all three!

“Silver Spring”? What the hecken’ kind of brand is that????? Beaver Extra Hot is the only way to go. Unless it’s wasabi then all bets are off.

Ha! I just get whatever the grocery store has – usually I don’t have a choice.

I hope you don’t have to balance that on your head for the whole month.

Ha! We probably won’t make her balance it the entire month.

How did horseradish get a whole month? I bet Choppy likes balancing it more than eating it.

They must be trying to raise horseradish awareness.

Mm; absolutely. I ran out of mustard and substituted horseradish. A revelation!!!
