Choppy and I took a weekend walk up to Potter’s Field. I know many of you enjoyed our earlier posts about Potter’s Field (here, here and here), so I figured you might like to see it in a different season.
It is – it has become Choppy’s favorite place to go for a walk. I would say it’s because it’s a sort of contemplative place to visit, but I think the real reason is that many other people regularly walk their dogs up there.
It was a nice day – warming up, but still not too warm so we weren’t slogging through wet snow and mud. I think this weekend we’ll be doing much mud-walking.
This was last weekend – it was still before we got our thaw, so it was great. Nice snow, no mud. And then, everything melted and we got a nice layer of ice just before getting some fresh snow on top of it. It’s like the figure skating Olympics out there right now.
She really does. We tried to go up there this morning, but thanks to melting snow, a giant pond had formed along the way. It was frozen again, but I wasn’t about to slip and slide my way there, so we detoured elsewhere (much to Choppy’s disappointment).
Thank you for sharing, Sarah & Choppy! Choppy looks appropriately
thoughtful, it’s a nice, quiet place.

Fido love snow, in this season you need to take care their paw especially isn’t it?

You really do – thankfully, there isn’t much salt up there, so less trouble for Choppy.

Thankfully, this morning we got out before the mud – it meant for a bit chillier walk, but better that than to be washing Choppy upon our return home.

Looks like easy walking conditions there. With our last rain and quick freeze, our trails are treacherous!

It does look like a really nice place to take a walk. I’m sure Choppy loves all of the smells of the other dog visitors too.
