Oh, she will come home with so many of them – particularly at my parents’ house. Thankfully, her fur is short enough they don’t get too stuck in it. The dog we had growing up had long fur, and he would just get mats of fur behind his ears.
They don’t seem to mind. I don’t think they feel them. I went out the other day and Tippy had little ones all down one side. Fortunately, I got them before they were too embedded into her fur and they were easy to get out. The worst ones are the ones that get on her ears. She hates for me to get those off.
I bet Tippy gets more than Choppy – her fur looks much longer. The dog we had growing up used to get so many, and they would get matted behind his ears. I can’t imagine that felt good.
Yes. They get matted behind Tippy’s ears if I don’t catch them in time. Lately, I’ve been trying to check her every time she comes back in the house from roaming around. It’s easier to get them when they first attach, that’s for sure.
Get out the brush and see how perturbed she seems. If it makes you feel any better, Choppy, Sam had some of that nasty velcro grass stuck to his hind paw this week. It’s such a pain getting all those 87 bazillion little seed heads out from between toes.
I hope Choppy’s eyes never get cut by the barbs and spines.

She does sometimes get them caught in her eyebrows – so far, though, I don’t think any have actually gotten in her eyes.

Hope the burrs comb out easily…..the round ones are the nastiest.

These small ones aren’t bad – we have those big, dry, brown ones that can get awful (as I know from personal experience with them in my own hair!).

Reminds me of growing up in the county and fighting with friends having a weed sticking fight. oh to be young.
Thanks for sharing.
Keep smiling.

Oh, we never tried that – probably only because we never thought of it. It sounds like the sort of thing we definitely would have tried!

I’m not sure she even knew they were on her – she was just enjoying her walk!

She seems to think the run was well worth picking up a few passengers. I’m not a fan of stick-tights either!

At least her fur isn’t long, so they come out fairly easily!

Choppy doesn’t mind the brush – perhaps some pulled hair feels better than having the burrs in her mind.
