A cooler walk for Day 241 – still so much warmer than it was a couple weeks ago, though!
Date: December 26, 2016
Location: Carlisle, Pennsylvania
Length: 1.9 Miles
Temperature: 35° F (1.6° C)
Who: Sarah
And how about something a little different for today? This is my mother-in-law’s cat, Rudy (he was in a picture a few days ago). He is rather large and has a somewhat un-cat-like habit: he enjoys water and likes to drink from the sink, to the point where he waits for people to go to the bathroom so he can get up there and drink from it. Here’s a video of him in action.

The cat I had as a youth did the same thing…but she didn’t “get into it” as actively as Rudy. Settled for taking a drink out of the running water but didn’t try to reach into the faucet for more. Rudy brings real passion and enthusiasm for this activity. Great video.

And this is him being pretty calm! Sometimes he has water just pouring down his cheek.

My gray & white kitty looks so much like Rudy! My Bengal used to drink from the faucet & drank from the tub spout, too. It’s 59° Just south of Boston! Weird!

It hit 60 before we left Baltimore! It is NOT that warm here in Wisconsin. Not even close!

It is more common than I thought when I posted this! I have never had one who enjoyed it at all!

Hahaha…my youngest cat does the exact same thing, loves the tap water, climbs onto the toilet and then into the basin(sink). If the bathroom door is closed, she will wait, or if she spots me, she then bolts to the bathroom, so I will open the door for her….such a character 🙂 !

It’s such a funny thing for a cat to do, especially when they are supposed to hate the water so much!

Awww, so cute Rudy is! I wondered if he were a Christmas kitty, named after Rudolph?
Hope you have a fun new year’s Eve, Sarah and Paul. xo

I don’t know, but I would guess he’s more likely named after the Notre Dame player. I will ask Paul and find out!

Oh, that was a really meaningful movie, Sarah. Good thought for a cat’s name.

I love that movie – though having gone to Notre Dame, I’m probably more than a little biased.

I visited Notre Dame and felt it was an awesome and beautiful campus, Sarah. My youngest daughter, Felicia, attended and graduated from UD, which had philosophy and religion requirements, as well as philanthropic projects. It made a big difference in her faith. 🙂

It is a gorgeous place to spend a few years (and make regular return visits)! You can’t help but be moved as a resident there, and they encourage everyone to explore their faith. Such a special place!

We had a cat that would only drink from the sink too. She was great.

I’m guessing Schooner would not do this at all!

How odd! But cute too. 🙂

Unless you want to use the sink – then it’s annoying!

That’s pretty funny! Never heard of a cat doing that. I did have a friend’s cat that would scoop its food up in a paw and eat it. Kinda strange IMO.

I have seen a few cats do that, at least with certain types of food. I think it is so cute!
