Happy Sunday Punday! I know all of you have been looking forward to this since its debut last weekend, so I’ll get right to it.

For those who don’t know, a crappie is a kind of fish. It looks like that one, which we found dead in the backyard last weekend. Yes, I am posting pictures of dead fish I found in the yard on my blog. You’re welcome, Internet.

I realized as I posted that not everyone was going to understand that one – I am glad to hear it helped!

I don’t wish to carp on, but we had a dead fish in our marina a week or so ago. Does that count? π

I wonder how it got there – did it commit piscicide by jumping out of the pond?

That appears to be the best explanation at this point. Perhaps another fish chased it out – First Degree Fishicide.

LOL One of my favorite childhood memories was about fishing for crappie in one of our local lakes. One day each spring, mom and dad would keep me and my brother out of school for a day of fishing. We always caught a lot and had so much fun! Mom and dad still go fishing as often as they can. No one catches as many as we used to, but they still have fun.

I love crappies – tasty and more fun to catch than other small fish, like bluegills! I get to go out with my dad sometimes, but not as often as I think either of us would like. That’s what happens with work…

I just wonder, did you see the fish and think of this idea, or did you just take the picture and find it useful later? Either way, thanks for making me laugh!

I actually saw the egret and heron last week, and realized the pun possibilities in my backyard. Later that day, I found the fish, took a picture, and put it on the Internet!
