As you may have seen last week, we finally closed on our new house and moved in over the weekend! Of course, by “move in,” I mean we got almost everything moved from our apartment to the new place, but not quite. Hopefully, tomorrow will involve the last trip to the apartment to pick up items (following Monday night’s last trip to the apartment, which turned out to be not-quite-the-last-trip).

I should probably also note that this “move in” situation also doesn’t include the two storage sheds of items down in Indiana that we have to move, either. In related news, we are on the never-ending moving timeline (though, after Paul and I moved the king mattress up our narrow stairway on our own, we will be getting movers to complete the process. Apparently, after many moves in our barely one year marriage, we have learned something. And it only took us nearly killing ourselves attempting to get a mattress upstairs to learn it!).

This? Not our car. You know how I know? They don't have anywhere near as much stuff as we do.

It is important to maintain optimism while moving. For example, this is a sign on the elevator in our apartment building. We could have been attempting to move from an apartment that wasn't on the ground level (though that might have inspired us to just leave everything in the apartment to let someone else deal with it).
It is important to maintain optimism while moving. For example, this is a sign on the elevator in our apartment building, informing residents that the elevator is broken and will not be fixed until after the weekend. As we lived on the first floor, this didn’t affect us. Had we lived on a higher level, I suspect our furniture would have taken the quick way out of the apartment – straight off of the balcony.
Choppy did not enjoy moving. She mostly moped around, feeling sorry for herself (though, in her defense, she had no idea what was going on).

This was pretty much the living situation all weekend. Then again, it is still kind of the living situation, just in the new house rather than the apartment (which is pictured).
