The next few Sunday pictures I have for you go back to my trip to Australia a few years ago. It was a great time, and I can’t wait to go back – if only to get more pictures that strike an American as a little odd!
The first one is a picture I took at Healesville Sanctuary, a sanctuary for Australian animals. It was a great place to visit, but one thing in particular struck me more than anything else: their campaign to encourage the use of recycled toilet paper, called “Wipe for Wildlife.” They even have a mascot (yes, his name really is “Crapman”). I brought home a coozie with another slogan that is part of the campaign, “Is you bum guilt free?” And, in case you need further proof, here’s a bad picture I took of one of the many signs around the Sanctuary encouraging the use of recycled toilet paper:

The term “recycled toilet paper” is somewhat ambiguous, isn’t it? 😉

I’m pretty sure most people prefer this particular paper product to come from new trees.

A toilet paper should be a toilet paper and nothing else ☺ Happy New Week love.

LOL, I had to laugh – I find it quite normal! I use a great brand called whogivesacrap. Must be the weird Aussie sense of humour. There’s also a brand that recycles used, clean office paper into toilet paper so you can wipe your bum with it! Truely it is very clean & totally hygienic and a great use of all that paper we still waste, even in these so-called ‘paperless office’ days 🙂 (PS Sarah I live less than an hour from Healesville Sanctuary, beautiful place!)

It must be an Australian thing – my cousins didn’t seem to think it was odd at all (they live in Melbourne)! Even though I know it’s not as bad as it sounds, I still can’t get my head completely around it.

It definitely is a downunder thing and not your head that you need to worry about ;)(oh ha ha, I’m so funny!)
