[Warning: this post is gross. It has a gross picture. I am sort of wondering why I wrote it in the first place. And then decided to post it after writing it. Anyway, that’s your warning.]
On Friday, we headed to Indiana to continue packing up the house there. Sometime as we got to Chicago, I looked to the backseat where Choppy was sitting, and noticed that Choppy didn’t look good.

Apparently, she didn’t feel good, either, because on the backseat, there was a pile of dog vomit. I have no idea how she threw up without either Paul or I noticing, but she did.

As we were in the middle of the city when we realized the problem, there wasn’t a good place to stop, so poor Choppy had to wait until we got somewhere safe before we could clean up the mess.
Thankfully, after cleaning up the mess, we got back to the house in Indiana without further incident. And then I posted about the whole thing on the Internet. It’s a good thing Choppy can’t read, because I’m pretty sure this would be embarrassing for her.

I am sorry to hear Choppy was not feeling well. I hope she is doing better. The same thing happened to my Alex a couple of days ago. I went to pick up my wife and I took Alex with me. She had not ate the whole day so I did not want to leave her at home. Well, on my way to the airport she puked. It was only water and something sort of yellowish. The vet told me years ago that when a dog pukes I should not feed her for 24 hours after that so her stomach settles. I was planning on doing that, but once we got home she seemed hungry. At my wife insistence, I put a small amount of kibble for her and Alex ate it up and went to bed. The next day she was fine. Whenever Alex’s tummy is out of whack, I feed her chicken soup. I don’t wait 24 hours as per her vet. The best to you and Choppy.

She is doing much better – she just spent five minutes barking at two dogs who were walking by (very slowly). I definitely don’t wait to feed her. If she seems better, I get her food. I would worry she was hungry if I didn’t!

Thanks! It wasn’t the first time she had been sick in the car. I once bore the brunt of the sickness. It was not pleasant.

Can absolutely imagine it.

Poor Choppy and so happy it was just car sick and not something more serious.

Agreed! It wasn’t the first time she has been sick in the car, so I wasn’t too worried. Just like when I feel carsick, opening the window seemed to ease the sickness for her.

Oh poor Choppy, having to ride in the back seat with a pile of barf. Hope you’re feeling better.

She is feeling better – she just barked at a passing car for seemingly no reason, so I’m taking that as further evidence of feeling OK.

Aww I’m so sorry! I’m not a dog owner and have no idea what is it like when they get sick. Poor thing!!

It isn’t too bad – I dislike cleaning up after her accidents far more!

Well, if that had been me, (and I can totally relate to poor Choppy’s misery) I would have cleaned that all up myself and my Mom Person would have never known a thing.

Ha! I am surprised Choppy didn’t choose this option (it wouldn’t have been the first time).

As someone with much experience being car sick, I definitely agree that it’s not fun – either way!

Thankfully, she got better pretty quickly – I think she was just car sick. No problems since then!
