As some of you may have guessed from the occasional food post on the blog, I enjoy cooking. I’m not a chef by any stretch of the imagination, but I enjoy getting into the kitchen and making something. It’s a great way to unwind after work, and you get something to eat out of it, too!

With that in mind, I’m going to try something new on the blog: Treat Day Tuesday. Unfortunately for Paul, these aren’t people treats I’m talking about, but dog treats. Basically, I’ll make Choppy treats and use it as an excuse to take pictures of her. It’s a win-win situation for everyone! (Except Paul, who is still without treats).

For the inaugural Treat Day Tuesday, I made these Honey Cinnamon Dog Biscuits. Choppy enjoyed them thoroughly, as you can see from the pictures below. I liked them because I (a) had all the ingredients on hand without having to make a trip to the grocery store, and (b) they were easy to make – I did them as I cooked the rest of supper.

Let me know in the comments or by email if you have a dog recipe you think I should try and I may do so in a future post (though no guarantees on that one).

Getting the ingredients ready. Choppy was likely suspicious at the lack of meat in this particular treat.

The moment of truth...
The moment of truth…
I think we have a winner! (Also? Choppy spent a lot of time begging this evening for more treats, until I put them away. These definitely fall into the category of treats that I will make again).
