Back in February 2013, Choppy and I found ourselves in Texas, attempting to avoid the cold of the rest of the country. We definitely succeeded. One of our stops was Enchanted Rock State Natural Area, in Texas, where we took a rather unpleasant hike (it turns out, a dog from Indiana is not well-suited to the hills of Texas). This is a picture from that day.

She looks happy in there I think. Relaxed with you anytime Sarah. Hi Choopy, Cheers

She does love water – so long as she can just wade, rather than swim!

So you were here?! Well, in 2013 we were still living farther south, in Karnes City. But now we’re not far from Enchanted Rock, in Fredericksburg. If you’ll ever be in the vicinity again, just give us a shout and we can meet.
Enchanted Rock truly is beautiful, isn’t it?

I went to Fredericksburg! I would love to visit again – it’s a beautiful part of the country. Enchanted Rock was gorgeous (though we didn’t do the hike up the rock – just hiking around it was enough of a workout for us!). We also went to Pedernales Falls, which was great.

A few weeks ago we did hike up there: great views. We have to hike around it yet. And we also have to see Pedernales Falls yet.
Have great weekend,
Pit

I figured that, as someone used to the relatively flat ground of Indiana, it was a better idea to stick to the flat route. It ended up not being as flat as expected. Next time, we’ll hike to the top!

Actually, I think it’s not too difficult to get up there. Having lived in the Rhineland in Germany for most of my life, and then mostly in flat southern Texas, I’m a flatlander – kind of. Without really exerting ourselves it took us about 45 minutes to get up there.

Good to know for when we get back there – it looks intimidating!
