Are they best friends? No. Are they getting along? Most of the time (they’re still trying to figure out how to play with each other – clearly, they don’t speak the same language, but they’re working on finding an understanding).

Sparky mostly ignores Flapjack, but Schooner tries to play with Sparky. Sparky wants NONE of that (and they currently have the worst relationship in the house). Rudy and Schooner are good, as are Rudy and Sparky (but those two have lived together a long time, so that’s to be expected). Rudy is terrified of Flapjack and thus avoids him all the time, so I’m not sure Flapjack even knows he exists.

Yes, adult cats (particularly of the same sex and older, I find) seldom adjust well to each other. It can be quite rancorous!
