Choppy tore her dew claw for the second time recently. Here she is, all bandaged up on her way home from the vet. I suspect the happy look on her face is because she was heading away from the much-disliked vet.
A close-up of her bandage. I think it says “no chem,” but I thought it said “no chew.” I was very confused because, as far as I know, dogs can’t read. I wasn’t sure who the message was for. Perhaps there are people out there who like to chew on dog bandages? (That is something I am definitely NOT looking up on the Internet.)
And, for those who wonder, she is all healed up now! Her dew claw will grow back, so we can go through all this a third time at some point in the future.
Bacon helps the healing process, Sarah – LOTS of bacon 🥓 🥓🥓❤️

Looks like it should say: NO CHEW, maybe printed in a ‘foreign country?’ It might have ‘bitter apple’ in it, which is distasteful to dogs. Glad Choppy’s dew claw is all healed.

Ouch poor Choppy. Even with the owner she does look happy. Love that photo of her. 🐾❤️

Awww. Bless her heart. For the record, I thought it said “No chew” also. I agree with Alice. Maybe it is a message for the vet that it has some taste that keeps the pets from chewing on them.

Poor girl, that must have hurt. Glad she is on the mend. My guess is that they put a bitter chemical in the bandage tape to discourage licking/chewing.

Sorry for the injury but glad she is well on her way to full recovery. Those pesky dew claws can be a literal pain when injured.
