It’s Midnight Mutts at noon! Of course, this could be midnight for some of you, so let’s go with that.
As you can see, the caterpillars are out here in full force, and Choppy is, as always, bewildered by them. Perhaps she can’t figure out what “cats” and “caterpillars” have in common.

Cute!

Aw so cute man!
I am always wary of the ‘furry’ ones though; I hope they don’t attack Choppy! 😀

Be careful some of these are poisonous and can cause issues for Choppy. Don’t want a sick puppy! Recommend she play with the real cat (Schioner)!

The family expertise on the reading of caterpillars varied according to the individual or generation advising. It was predicted by the aging cousin that the solid brown ones meant a mild winter, the solid black much snow, and the black/brown/black banded ones a mixed bag with an early spring. Know’s Alot Nephew says that the solid browns are alot of snow, the solid blacks alot of cold weather, and the brown/black/brown banded ones are rain and mild temperatures. Oh, and my Mom used to say that the banded ones (no matter the order of color) were an early frost, snow/ rain, and a late wet spring. And I, Sage Crone gave up years ago trying to ‘read the woolies’ with much more confidence than to say they definitely portend the seasons change. Fun post. Thank you.
All my best to you and Choppy-
