Wisconsin: yes, we do have cows.
(These cows are not Choppy’s favorites, thanks to an incident last summer you can read about here. I’m pretty sure she is convinced these cows can shoot electricity at her.)

I remember reading about that shocking experience!

Choppy definitely still remembers it – she gives the cows a wide berth and usually walks by them VERY quickly.

They look pretty wild to me! I was surrounded by a herd of them once and had to jump in my car until they went somewhere else!

That must have been quite the sight!

You don’t realise how big they are until they surround you and are all looming!

Poor Choppy getting zapped. I don’t blame her for a hasty retreat on seeing cows. Cows = fence = electrical zapping. She is a fast learner😂and she remembers.

Her memory is so good for this – if only it was so good for everything!

I love cows, but they can be such big lummoxes!
The corn in the background is huge!

Almost all of it around us is already tasseled – it was more like “head high by the 4th of July” than “knee high by the 4th of July.”

Here’s the thing – if dogs can remember getting shocked and learn from the experience, why do they get repeatedly skunked???? My dog never seemed to remember that those black and white fluffy bags of stink will spray her. 😦

That is an excellent question – perhaps they are secretly OK with the smell of skunk.

Hmmmm…this has crossed my mind as well 🤔

Poor Choppy that must have been a pretty good shock. Nice photos of the cows.

I think she got shocked several times, because the first couple did not deter her.

They are pretty tame, but I still wouldn’t want to be stuck in the middle of them.

Best avoid cows, Choppy, especially in large numbers. And not just for their zapping abilities!

They are always very curious about her – they come running from wherever else they are to check her out. But I have no doubt they would give her a good kick if they felt threatened.

Exactly – definitely best avoided.

I think electricity shooting cows from Wisconsin has been duly documented more than once, Choppy. For the record, there’s less static in Colorado. Just saying.

Yes, but she has heard the temperature there is only slightly less than the surface of the sun.

Reminds me of the time two of my boys told the youngest he could pee on the electric fence.
To this day Ryan is the most cautious fence-crosser.
