One question remains unanswered with this post: does Choppy even like black licorice?
Schooner at least seems interested in checking it out.

Ha! Of course, Amaretto isn’t too bad either. ๐

Ah ha! Yes, indeed that would slip down quite nicely. Yum, yum. :O)

I love it! And Choppy seemed happy to partake of it as well (post-photo shoot, of course).

I was not unhappy to have to purchase this and partake of it myself.

Iโm sure that Schooner just wants to play with it! And letting Choppy taste it could be considered abusive. That stuff is gross!

Ha! She seems to like it.

The best dark licorice is made by Darrell Lea (Australia). Nothing can compare!

It’s a pity the company is no longer like it once was.

It is getting harder to find over here as well.

I have never had it!

Trader Joe’s used to carry it, but supplies seem to be not reliable. Gary seems to indicate the company changed hands, so maybe that is it. Oddly enough, I’ve found Tractor Supply carries a line of it.

I wonder if you’d like the really salty strong tasting licorice from Holland…

I’m not sure. When I was in Finland I got told about a special Li price they have there too.

In Dutch it’s called “drop”….I find many kinds inedible, but obviously many people love it…there’s an amazing variety to purchase.

As do I (and, it turns out, so does Choppy).

I can’t stand black liquorice, my mom on the other hand hides it in her car to eat. Lol..I don’t know why she has the need to hide it, no one in the house enjoys it. Choppy looks cute balancing the liquorice

Ha! Perhaps she needs to hide it from guests who are also black licorice lovers.

Licorice is not my thing either Choppy. I hope your mom took it off of your nose before Schooner decided to swat at it.

I did – but Schooner got her later in the day (and got her good – poor Choppy was bloodied in battle).

Oh no! Poor Choppy! Bless her heart! Schooner should be ashamed.

Hmmmmm nice new play thing on Choppy’s nose ๐ Now if Schooner stands up he could flick it off Choppy’s nose …..probably not the greatest idea.
I haven’t had licorice in a very long time, thanks for the idea Choppy, I am going to buy some later ๐

I think Schooner’s expression says:
“What a goof!”
Alas, I think my Sassy June has a secret stash of black licorice.
Her tongue always has black spots on it!
Seek peace,
