I’m with Choppy on this one – I don’t think this is what was meant by “something on a stick.”

You’re probably right this time Chops.

Both of them would have preferred bacon on a stick, I am sure.

Exceptionally I agree with Choppy, too. 😉

Too bad for these two – I think Something on a Stick Day in its appropriate sense would have been far tastier for them!

I was thinking it might be a day without Schooner there for a while. He was not into this particular photo shoot!

Sounds like a holiday where one breaks out the BarBy. Hotdogs, bacon-wrapped kebabs, s’mores. Yummy.

It’s definitely a holiday to make you hungry.

Choppy is something and Choppy is on a stick. It makes sense to me.

I don’t know if you ever saw the Patrick Swazy movie Point Break (the original in 1991) about surfers that rob banks. At the end of the movie, as Kneau Reeve’s undercover FBI character goes down to try and stop Patrick’s character at an Australian beach as a super storm has churned up 60-foot waves and he is going to die surfing rather than being taken into custody. As he greets some other surfers wisely leaving the area they say “it’s death on a stick out there, mate”. That experssion was uttered more than once in the cockpit during the 90s.’

Point Break is such an awesome movie. Paul has not seen it. He doesn’t know what he is missing. I hadn’t even thought of that line when I did this. But you can bet it’s going to be brought up in conversation as soon as appropriate!

I agree. I’m pretty sure that is NOT what they had in mind. But, this is probably way cuter. LOL

Cuter – but probably less tasty.

That’s what I’ve thought. But having done so many of these, I can safely say it’s not the strangest!
