Normally, our possums show up in the evening. However, on Tuesday, we had an overcast, rainy morning and one of them decided to pay us a morning visit.

That looks like a very young one!

This is our small one – there is a larger one who comes by as well.

You provide food for them! So kind of you. Glad Choppy does not spot them.

They seem to eat whatever the birds leave at the end of the day – I’m happy to give them some food. Others think they aren’t attractive, but I don’t mind them.

I love the way you look out for nature’s beings. Real kind of you and I am sure these little critters are appreciative of your kindness. Have a fun day or evening ahead 😀

I am happy to do it – I love getting to see all the creatures. Even the ones others don’t appreciate.

Look at that sweet little pink nose and the concentration on his face … adorable!

This little guy is more attractive than some – he even had a little white mohawk.

So cute. Are they destructive?

Nope – though most are not quite as cute as this guy. I don’t mind having them around, as they supposedly eat ticks.

He is a regular at our bird feeders – last night, Choppy gave him quite a chase. I don’t think he appreciate it.

Aw – But a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do! LM is the same! 😀

Maybe he’s trying to prepare for DST due to hit soon?

Maybe! I’m the one who is going to have trouble with it. We have such nice morning walks now – the sun is almost up when we get home and it’s nice and bright. I don’t want that to change!

I HATE Daylight Savings Time. I never did adjust last year and my sleep patterns are already messed up. Ugh. Just thinking about it gives me a headache.

I can never decide if they are cute or ugly… maybe ugly-cute? 😉

Cute little critter, so misunderstood.

They are – I don’t mind seeing them around (Choppy, on the other hand, thinks all of them need a good chase).

I am sorry I just don’t like them 😦

These guys always seem to add a smile to our days. Maybe your friend wanted to wish you an “early in the day” happy birthday!!

I guess the “early possum gets the seeds.” 😉

It must be – or you are less likely to be chased by a dog.

It’s so nice to see them during the day. We usually see all of ours at night as well on our night vision Nest Cam, but one morning Rudy stopped by in the late morning. We’re thinking that maybe she is pregnant as she is always starving and eats everything in sight. I just love possums and think they are the cutest critters. I think we feed our wild possums better than ourselves sometimes. 🙂

For years, my parents have seen them during the late afternoon, along with raccoons. They think that the females, especially the ones with babies or who are pregnant, are willing to show up early to avoid potential issues with competitors.

That’s very possible. So far everyone in our yard gets along- the possums, skunks, raccoons and bunnies. Hopefully it will stay that way if we are lucky enough to see little ones come around.
