Those are always the scariest things in a dog’s mind. Nothing like a shadow to keep a pooch in her toes, eh?

The biggest middle of the night threat Choppy had was an owl. It started hooting just outside our window, and she nearly gave me a heart attack when she woke up barking like nothing I’ve ever heard before or since. I think it just startled her, because we hear them all the time and she has never reacted that way before or since.
