These are actually an Aussie Rules football team – one of our Australian relatives gave it to us. We don’t even have actual magpies where we live!

Thanks Sarah, Paul, Choppy and Schooner. But why oh why that ball. I need to send you a ball from the greatest footy team ever, the Brisbane Broncos. Then there is my all time representative team, the all conquering, NSW crushing, Mighty Queensland Maroons. The Broncos and Maroons play the best code of footy ever, i.e., Rugby League (not to be confused with Rugby Union (also known as Rugby).

I do enjoy rugby – though I loved AFL while I was there. I got to two games. No one took me to any rugby, though – next time!

What a great costume Choppy. Mom’s godparents were from Australia, and she got spoiled with Australian goodies like Tim Tams growing up. She still had Dad bring a bunch home when he goes there on business.
