Thanks to some unseasonably warm temperatures, we got in plenty of nice walks this last week. Unfortunately, it isn’t going to last – I’m trying not to look at those single -digit temperatures headed our way, per the weather forecast.

I think she was excited to be in the woods and in close proximity to many chase-able squirrels.

You’re winter weather skipped right over us. But at least it’s not in the 70’s in December right now. Enjoy dashing through the snow!

The worst part is, I don’t think we’re getting any snow – just cold! If it is going to be cold, the least Mother Nature could do is give us enough of the white stuff for some fun and Christmas atmosphere.

Agreed. That’s my condition for accepting the icy wind but apparently Mother Nature reneged on our deal. Cranky old bat!

We love it too – and will enjoy it for as long as it lasts (even if it is just a short time).

I think we’re running out of good weather quickly – we had to take a shorter walk than normal this morning because of extremely windy conditions. I fear that wind is blowing in winter!

It’s happening here, too. We’re just wondering why the snow is so late this year.

I have yet to see anything more than some flakes in the air, which is unheard of for this time of year (though apparently I was out of town one day when we had a dusting).

It’s getting harder – we’ve had two windy days in the row. When it is cold and windy, I am not a happy camper!

Yes it is just biting cold then and not much fun!

Choppy looks like she is enjoying the warm weather. You got in a lot of good walks. I understand your trepidation about later in the week. We aren’t going to get single digits, but down in the teens! Too cold, too fast.

It is too cold, too fast! The last couple mornings have been windy so we have been on short walks. The cold I am OK with, the wind I hate!

Yes. I hate the wind too. When I lived in Ohio, it seemed like the wind blew all winter long. Because I was in the military and couldn’t wear anything over my forehead, I would always have an ice cream like headache before I could get into the office from the parking lot. That wind just cuts right through you!

Oh, that would be awful not to have anything on your forehead. I have a head mask that makes it bearable most days, though we’re getting close to the temperatures where I hit the treadmill more than I get on the actual walks.

Does Choppy walk the treadmill when it is cold?

Nope – she watches me walk. She has yet to decide to try it herself.

Seems like the weather is a bit crazy all over…enjoy the good weather though while you can. 🙂

I think we’ve moved on to bad weather – yesterday it was so windy I had to cut our walk short!

I’ll bet you have sought the energy of the pooch to get you out on this Marathon somedays. They just never get tired do they…our choc lab appears not at any rate.

Choppy does eventually get tired – but she is not a lab, so that may be part of it. I don’t think labs ever get tired!
