Choppy was very curious about the little cat we brought home two years ago. Schooner was not as happy – look at that poofy tail!

Schooner was so cute. Still is, but in a much more “knowing” way. If that makes any sense

It does – he’s still cute, but he also knows who he is as a cat.

He certainly does 🙂

Schooner was definitely a scared-kitty😕

Very much so. I do like seeing that poofy tail. I know he is scared when he does it, but it’s amazing how big it gets!

At least they weren’t fighting, but poor Schooner does look scared. I guess he quickly figured out what his claws were good for, though.

Thankfully, Choppy is used to cats, so she knew to keep at least some distance without getting a Schooner-swat. I’m not sure Schooner had even seen a dog before this, so I think it was mostly a matter of him getting used to the large, four-legged creature in the house.

Yes. I imagine having another creature much larger than you would be rather scary.

My old dog Holly was “gifted” with a box of four rescued kittens. She was unimpressed. LOL! Once they were old enough to tumble out of the box, they learned the tabby cat poofy tail technique just like Schooner.

Choppy would be extremely unimpressed with that sort of gift, and want us to give it back immediately (she still feels this way about Schooner).

LOL! That about summed up Holly’s feelings for the first six months or so. She gave those kittens and that box a very wide berth.

Aww, but that scaredy cat didn’t last long!

That’s for sure – though Choppy is rarely this interested in Schooner these days!

It looks like Choppy was hoping this was a new chase toy. Rats, it wasn’t in the cards. 😉

Not in the cards at all – and now, Schooner wants to play and Choppy is rarely so inclined.

How cute. And now they are BFFs…mostly. Ok, on occasion. Fine, when Schooner triumphs. 😆

Oh my goodness, Schooner was so little 🙂 He still is a cutie pie though 🙂

He was a wee little guy – but that white tail tip makes him recognizable even as a kitten.

Thankfully, they got through their early disputes…so they can have new ones as older pets.
