Who wants to have squirrel butt food? This is a good strategy to get all the food.

It’s been a good acorn year, so far they haven’t come in the yard, but it is only a matter of time. The chipmunks, however, are EVERYWHERE, driving Wren (and me) crazy. They have stripped every red berry off the cotoneaster out front. It was so pretty, alas.

Chipmunks! We had neighbors in town who wanted to get rid of their one chipmunk. I think they stopped trapping after they caught 30+ of them, I believe.

Squirrels are cute, but can be so destructive.

Ours are thankfully less destructive than some I’ve seen.

Hm, I have never thought of putting out food for the squirrels. I’m wondering if then they might leave our brid feeders alone.
Have a wonderful weekend,

They don’t around here! I think they are less inclined to go for the bird feeders, but they still get caught raiding them fairly often.

Much cuter when they are eating their own food than when they are eating the bird food!

Or the dilemma might be: more food for squirrels equals more squirrels in the yard 😮🤔🙄😟

You would think that, but so far we seem to have a couple, but no infestation.

We have yet to meet a squirrel with good table manners. 😁

And they’re always trying to sneak food off in their cheeks!

Aww – so cute! They look very different from the ones here but their manners are just the same 😉

Do yours have the little tufts of fur on the ears that make them look pointed? I always think those guys look adorable, like little elves.

Yes, they do. I just love these little tufts too! But they grow them only in winter to keep warm which luckily will be the case now 😄

I didn’t realize that – I thought they always had them. Apparently, all the pics I see of them are from colder days!
