After a couple relatively boring days wildlife-wise at Rocky Mountain National Park, we came across something far more interesting: two moose! Only one is pictured here (for some reason, I feel the need to point this out, as if some of you can’t count).

Sarah I am hooting out loud at that last remark …. I’m glad you pointed it out – otherwise I’d have been doing a ‘Where’s Choppy’ thing for hours and without my glasses would have been convinced I had found it in the distance!! Love Mr or Mrs Moose wholeheartedly … seeing one is on my bucket list š

Good luck seeing the moose – this was Paul’s first, but I’ve been seeing them my whole life while on fishing and canoeing trips. Apparently, I frequent places with moose!

Moose are enormous. They make deer look itty-bitty.

You would think so, but then again, I think they are pros at blending into the woods and avoiding being seen by us. Even more so than Choppy!

That I can understand. At the Addo Elephant Park many years ago, my husband and I could not see any elephants . . . they were hiding in the massive trees!

Wow, lucky you! We saw a moose in Alaska many years ago but they have eluded us since.

They aren’t the easiest to spot – I’ve happened to frequent some places fishing and canoeing where they are relatively common, so I’m sure I’ve seen more in the wild than the vast majority of people!

I hope you get to see one – they are massive. Usually, I just see them crashing through the brush after they cross a road, or when they see us coming around a bend in the road. These two were content to just hang out while we snapped pics!

We saw lots of moose in Jackson Hole, the traffic came to a standstill as everyone got out of their cars to take photos. We even saw one on the piste. We were going up in a gondola and saw one on the piste, we were safe, but I bet it gave some skiers one hell of a shock!
