I completely forgot to do a Backyard View for July – which is probably because I keep forgetting to take the pictures for them. I’m going to view this situation as leaving room for improvement next year.
Backyard View – August 2017

I completely forgot to do a Backyard View for July – which is probably because I keep forgetting to take the pictures for them. I’m going to view this situation as leaving room for improvement next year.
That’s cool. I really need to do that – maybe with Tippy in the picture somewhere. I like the April/May scenes the best so far. Such bright greens.

You should try it. Even missing weeks now and then, it’s great to look back (though seeing how late we had ice does NOT make me look forward to winter).

I did noticed that the ice stuck around for a long time. We’re already having cool weather, which is nice, but makes me think this winter might be awful.

It was 44 for one of our morning walks this week – I share your worries for winter!

Looks so peaceful. (and perfect for digging holes…)

Oh, most definitely perfect for hole digging – especially per the groundhogs who live back there!

I’m hoping for some beautiful fall colors – and the return of the non-green pond!

Yeah, I noticed the change – is that algae?

I really enjoyed the slide show – and music 🙂
Amazing to me to see the snow Keep coming back – and then Suddenly in May it’s like All Green! 🙂

I’m glad you like it!
And it is funny about all the melting/re-freezing. I don’t recall much of that from past years, but then again, I never did this before. Perhaps it happens all the time, and because I never recorded it, I never knew!

It’s possible – or Climate Change!

We should always leave room for improvement … I’m sure it must be rude or uncouth or simply foolish to imagine we are perfect, after all. How I love this idea. I’m so glad to have reconnected, Sarah!

I can’t take credit for the idea – it came from Cathy, via Eliza, and switched up just a bit to suit my own life (usually I post the background, but I forgot on this post). I am so glad I made the effort to do this – it had been great to watch the yard change over the year. I see it every year, but I haven’t really paid attention before.

It is- though I do wish there was water not covered by algae in our pond – next year, we make another attempt at keeping it algae-free!

Algaes are hard to fight. The lakes in and around Berlin are always covered with them from August to September – it always takes a little extra willpower to go in and have a swim anyway 😉

I grew up in lakes, so I know that willpower well! Part of our problem is that our pond is very shallow, and I don’t think a fountain would work in it. At least that would keep it somewhat clean.

I like those lake videos Sarah

Thank you! I’m so glad I started doing them – it’s great to see how far we’ve come this year. Things should brighten up soon as the leaves start changing colors for fall.

Blimey that algae is fierce! This is such a cool idea I’m going to ahem ‘borrow’ (steal) it for next year! 🙂 Love seeing how the lake changes.

Please do borrow it! I love seeing how things change. I am a sucker for all those time lapse videos.

It really is getting good – I’m looking forward to seeing the fall colors in it as well. I can’t say I’m looking forward to the re-freezing of the pond, though.

Thank you – I don’t get tired of it! Just this morning, there were a bunch of ducks and a heron out there. You never know what you’ll see!
