We’re lucky to have lots of butterflies around here. I never get tired of seeing them! LikeLike Reply
It really was – I am going to work on getting more wildlife pics, as we certainly have plenty of it around here! LikeLiked by 1 person Reply
I was hoping I would get an open shot, but when you’ve got a dog at the end of the non-camera hand leash, you take what you can get! LikeLiked by 1 person Reply
We have two “Butterfly Bush” plants in our front garden and, at this time of you, it is a very busy place! Presumably they are fueling up ready for their long trek south. It is wonderful to just sit and watch them. LikeLiked by 1 person Reply
We often do! Sit on the front porch with a drink, and watch the butterflies! Retirement is wonderful. 🙂 LikeLiked by 1 person Reply
I can imagine it now – and it sounds amazing! I think I’m still a ways away from retirement yet. LikeLiked by 1 person Reply
Yay, a monarch! Your area has the highest US numbers – may it continue to be so! LikeLiked by 1 person Reply
I had no idea! Thank you for letting me know (and now I go look up more monarch info). LikeLike Reply
Yes, you were luck to find a monarch at rest…they are strong flyers. Thanks for this marvelous post. LikeLiked by 1 person Reply
I am going to keep an eye out for more of them, as apparently they are pretty common here. LikeLike Reply

It’s a male, correct?

I think so, but harder to be sure when looking at the underwing.
