So, we’re a day early with this, but our weekend posts tend not to get seen by as many people and I wanted to make sure all my Canadian friends see this one. Happy Birthday, Canada! Have a great one – and no apologies for all the noisy celebrations allowed! You only turn 150 once!
Mmmmm….maybe bacon poutine??

I had to look up poutine, having never heard of it… it sounds greasy, artery-clogging and gross. But I love bacon, so what’s the difference? Happy Birthday, Canada!

Ha! It’s actually amazing. I eat it pretty much every time I see it on a menu. In related news, when I drop dead of heart attack before I turn 40, we now know what to blame!

The big coffee chain Tim Hortons is selling poutine donuts for the 150th. Ugh.
I live in the capital of CAnada so the celebrations here are huge – and we’re expecting thunderstorms.

Choppy makes a great Mountie – as does the little reindeer 🙂

She does make a good one – she’d probably start confiscating all sorts of meats from people as an actual Mountie, though. She’d be fired very quickly.

Reblogged this on Die Erste Eslarner Zeitung – Aus und über Eslarn, sowie die bayerisch-tschechische Region! and commented:
See how Choppy and Schooner (Madams first! ;-)) celebrated the 150th anniversary of Canada.

I had to look at the dictionary, because I didn’t know what poutine is. 😉 Schooner seems to love it because his look is full of anticipation. 😉

It’s very tasty – if you ever see it on a menu, definitely try it out!

The photo even includes the Mountie! Your cats facial expressions crack me up!

I don’t generally think of cats as having many facial expressions, but Schooner has taught me otherwise (at least with regard to him).

I think Schooner’s on the right track. Poutine is a great way to celebrate Canada Day.
