Thanks to a cracked garbage disposal and the urgent need to replace it (as I don’t particularly enjoy having a kitchen and basement with water everywhere), I stayed home yesterday to let the plumber in and get that fixed up. With a nice, dry home after the plumber’s departure, Choppy and I got a second walk in despite a return to some fairly cold weather.
Walk One:
Date: February 8, 2017
Location: Home
Length: 1.3 Miles
Who: Sarah & Choppy
Walk Two:
Date: February 8, 2017
Location: Home
Length: 1.3 Miles
Who: Sarah & Choppy

Choppy looks chilled. Poor Schooner, I always feel sorry for indoor cats, I know it’s to keep t hem safe but they do so love to explore and do catty things. When we got Storm & Skye they’d been indoor cats for 6 years and it was lovely to see their first steps into the big wide world. Skye doesn’t go out now much by her own choice, but when she was fit and well she loved to gambol up and down the path outside our house and get tickles from passers by.

We’ve had 4 cats go out & never return…..they have a wonderful family here, yummy food, attention….my Bengal cat, a 1/2 year ago, 💔 my heart by not returning.

Yes I’ve been lucky all my cats, 9 all together, have been outdoor cats and had no problems. One of our ginger toms got into someone’s house a mile away and became a father 😂😂 we found out later. I do understand the worry when they’ve gone out.

I grew up with cats that came and went as they pleased, so this is very odd – and even Choppy gets her chances to wander (though she has never been one to take them all that often, at least without another dog to keep her company).

Both of them look eager to go out.
Has Schooner ever sneaked out?

Oh yes – he tries regularly, and succeeds on occasion!

I’m not sure he’s smart enough to realize this!

Ouch on the disposal. My plumber hubby says those things will keep him in biz for years! I’ve actually never had one. And I have an odd fear of drains (NO! I have not and will not watch ‘It’!)
Scary! 😲

As it is the second one I’ve replaced in as many houses, I’m not surprised it will keep him in business! That said, I really dislike not having one, so I will happily keep buying and replacing them!

It’s fine to have them… just be aware of their extra maintenance… like me! Ha ha!
Ice is the best ‘cleaner’ and egg shells are the worst thing to send down there. Pass passing eggs!
If you’re septic, be sure to use septic flush stuff. A good time to use is b4 trips. It works best when you’re not using h2o.

We’re on city water and sewer – we’re the last people on the edge of town, but it’s still the edge of town!

Hope springs eternal for Schooner, it appears. Choppy is looking quite pleased that you got to stay home and spend some extra time with her. Glad you got the plumbing fixed.

Choppy loves it when someone stays home, though I think she prefers going to work. There’s a lot more going on there!

Thanks! We’ve been doing better at the latter of those two recently than the former!
