Yesterday, for the first time, we caught Choppy and Schooner really interacting while we were away. Granted, they just sort of sniff each other, but it’s a lot more than the little sniffs and a jump over Choppy that we’ve seen before.
Unfortunately, during said interaction, Choppy is on the couch (where she is not supposed to be) and Schooner is on the coffee table (where he is not supposed to be).
Date: November 17, 2016

Who: Sarah & Choppy
First, Choppy’s day in fast forward.
Now, the forbidden interaction.
Choppy looks so comfy on t he sofa, and you can tell that Schooner knows he’s been filmed!

It definitely does not look like this is her first time on the couch!

They make themselves comfortable wherever they are!

What tickles me the most is how Choppy gets up on the sofa and sits for a bit before lying down. As if she feels the need to pose for a bit, collect her thoughts, then stretch out for the ever popular nap. lol. Again, I’m thinking there’s a sit-com in all of this some how, lol. Or a live action, “Secret Life of Pets.” π

Quite amusing. Schooner’s tail is sooo long!

I think the cats I grew up with must have had long tails – whenever I see a cat with a shorter one, I think that is the abnormal tail!

I have Manx cats with stubby tails, so I suppose they all look long π but his is particularly long. I wonder if he has a few extra vertebrae?

As someone who had a cat with extra toes growing up, I wouldn’t be surprised by it. I can try to count – we do have a standing morning petting section while Choppy is asleep where I think I could get an accurate number.

Just for Sarah, (not Choppy, I don’t want to be blamed for giving her any ideas!) So far……..You haven’t seen Choppy on the coffee table?! That’s good! π³

Thankfully, no! And none of the other furniture, either.

Oh, I really like these videos – and the second one I was expecting them two to start talking to each other. π

Why is there aluminium foil on the couch? If you want Choppy off the couch and Schooner off the coffee table you may need to separate both objects. They seem to like to meet up while on both.

It is to keep Schooner from scratching it up. It is…somewhat effective.

Have you ever considered “scat mats?” Some use a tone, others use a ‘static correction.’ Work well for both cats and dogs.

I have had them recommended to me! I may try them – of course, at this point, Choppy has been getting up on the couch for years so perhaps I should just let her continue to do so in her senior years.
