Long ago – a date known as May 1 – I set about on a one month project to walk at least a mile every day. My usual companion in this challenge would be Choppy, though we do have some occasional appearances by Paul. It was a challenge that would hopefully make both of us a little healthier, let us spend some time together, and provide some content for the blog (the last one is not to be underestimated as a reason to do something).
After a month, it seemed like we should keep going. Now, six months into the challenge, we have no plans to stop. Mother Nature might thwart us at some point – it is Wisconsin, after all – but for now, we’re continuing on.
As if to give us a taste of weather to come, Mother Nature threw the worst weather we’ve walked in at us on Day 180 – I postponed our morning walk to the afternoon in the hopes it would stop raining. It did not. And so, we had a cold, wet walk for Day 180. The challenge goes on!

That’s the plan! I’m worried Mother Nature will attempt to thwart us this winter, but we’ll figure something out.

Our plan is to go as long as possible at this point! Whether or not the weather allows that, we’ll see.

CONGRATS! Great milestone, you two. Hopefully, you have a down coat, insulated boots, mittens, scarf and hat for the road ahead. 🙂 I’ve been walking every day for years (all weathers) and it is as much for my head as for my heart. 🙂

That’s impressive, seeing as you don’t always have “good” weather!

We have the clothing – I worry more about Choppy in the cold than myself. And cars slipping and sliding in the ice and snow!

That’s seriously impressive! I’m so proud of you and Choppy for sticking to it. Fun fact the island of Ireland is roughly 300 miles top to bottom so you have walked more than the length of a country! 😀
