Violence – of the cat attacking dog kind – is a daily feature of life around here. Perhaps Choppy and Schooner could take a day off from it today, though I suspect that is asking too much of them.
Happy International Day of Non-Violence!

But first, you have to teach the fiendish feline to read, Choppy. That’s where your first mistake is. 😉

It took him a long time to learn how to sit. I don’t think reading is in the cards.

I started to laugh cynically as soon as I saw the title. Never gonna happen!

There is no giving peace a chance around here.

Maybe Choppy needs to give Schooner a good biff.

Probably!

I find it amusing they’ll lay down next to each other and appear content, yet you write about daily skirmishes! Life and time of our pets. 🙂

They go from just fine to major arguments in a heartbeat!

Well, he was insisting I feed him his canned food while I was in the middle of a Hi Ho Cherry O game! 🙂 He got my attention for sure! Ha!

What a coincidence, I visited the Carter Center today in Atlanta, and I didn’t even realize it was International Day of Non-Violence. The Carter Center is an institution dedicated to bringing peace, freedom, and equality to the world community. And as I look back on the visit, I do not recall seeing any pictures of cats in any of the exhibits…

Cats and violence go hand-in-hand (or paw-in-paw).

Choppy looks so cute! How do you get these two to pose like that?

Choppy is easy – she just does what I want (I can actually move her around and put her exactly where I want her). Schooner is not so easy, but because we do this every day, he pretty much gets in position now without fuss (there was much bloodshed before we got here, though – my blood!).

It’s an impressive feat. Their expressions make my day.

Maybe Schooner needs a muzzle & kitty boots?!

That would be amazing – though the idea of putting them on him terrifies me. I think much violence would be directed my way!

You might as well teach Schooner to swim. Non violence from a cat…. Riiiiight!

It’s obvious Schooner won’t stop..ha ha. Choppy seem like the nicer one but I have a feeling when she unleashes, heaven always lets loose.
I like it!!

Oh, these two both get their share of fun/violence in. Usually it’s Schooner directing it at Choppy, but if Schooner does something Choppy truly dislikes, she lets him know it!

As adorable as my cat, Lina, was, she had characteristics that remind me of Shooner; loveable, cute as could be, but would bite me and my dogs that I had at the time (I don’t know if Shooner bites you, though, I kind of doubt it, since I can’t imagine you allowing that, I didn’t allow it either, though, but Lina had other ideas!), whenever she got the notion. She looked like an angel, and she kind of was (when she behaved!), but for reasons unknown to me she had a snappy side to her, I’m not even sure if she really meant any harm, Her bites weren’t deep ones that drew blood.

Lina sounds feisty! Schooner tends. Or to bite people, unless you’re doing something he doesn’t want you to (say, dressing him up in clothing).

Ummmmm ….Non violence Schooner, that means no biting…it means ‘be nice’ day 🙂 Sorry Choppy, hopefully it’s nearly walk time.

Schooner may not have gotten the ‘non’ part – he probably thinks that means a little is allowed.
