Day 108 was pretty much a perfect day for walking – so we got two in! I also took what is quite possibly the most boring video ever involving a dog and geese. And then posted it to the blog so everyone could be bored by it.
Walk One:
Date: August 15, 2016
Location: Home
Length: 1.3 Miles
Who: Sarah
Walk Two:
Date: August 15, 2016
Location: Home
Length: 1.3 Miles
Who: Sarah, Paul & Choppy

Chospter the movie star! I knew it!! 🙂

I need to take more videos – I’ve realized they don’t need to be long. And maybe the next one won’t be so boring (though I will hope Choppy does not chase the geese – maybe she’ll see some bunnies when I have the camera out).

LOL, I don’t think Choppy was interested in the geese – maybe bunnies instead? 🙂

Oh, bunnies involve a whole different reaction – she would have been chasing after them in a heartbeat!

Haha love the video, Choppy is so good with the geese 🙂 if it was Bonnie with geese it would be a slightly more exciting video but for all the wrong reasons haha

Ha! Choppy has never taken much interest in birds. The first time she did, she was a fluffball of a puppy, and we saw some geese swimming in a pond. She didn’t quite understand the concept of water yet, either. She took a flying leap at the geese, hit the water and went under.
Meanwhile, on shore, I saw my brand new puppy go flying into and under the water. I had no idea if she could swim or if I would be taking a dip in a pond on my walk to save her.
Thankfully, she popped up quickly, and swam back to shore. Ever since, she has mostly left birds alone (she’ll sometimes go to check one out, like the cranes a couple weeks ago, but that’s about it). She also doesn’t like to do more than wade. I suspect all of these things are related.

Oh my word I can only imagine how terrifying that would’ve been for both of yous, poor puppy choppy.

At least it didn’t scare her from the water permanently – she still doesn’t like to swim, but she wades with the best of them.

It’s not boring once Choppy is in it ☺
Well done on the walk

That could be! Maybe she knows those aren’t the birds to mess with, either. They will fight back.

Around geese, my beagle thinks he’s a boarder collie. Around pit bulls he thinks his 22 lbs makes him a UFC (ultimate fighting champion.) I think he suffers from an identity crisis.

Napoleon complex, perhaps?
Choppy just doesn’t chase birds as a general rule. Other non-bird animals? Definitely. Maybe she figures she doesn’t have a chance against birds that can fly away.

These pups are pretty smart. I’m sure there is a good reason.

I’ll take boring over chasing (though she sort of chased them last night – it wasn’t much of a chase, though).
