Travels with Choppy 
The rural environment creates a down to earth feeling and displays the simplest of lifestyles (requiring hard work and long hours.) Even so, these people experience so much more joy and happiness without relying on the complexities of technology and the stress it magnifies. It’s amazing that all it takes to create a smile is witnessing a goat and chicken on the road!

So true – I love that we are just on the edge of the country when we are at home. It is so relaxing to just get out for a walk and enjoy nature. Who needs TV when you have the whole world out there to watch (except for sports – I do need the TV for that).

Phew! I’m glad you clarified that there were no mountains, cos I’d already started looking for them! And I wonder what Choppy would have made of a horse and a goat? 🙂

It could be a new feature “Where’s the mountain?”
Choppy actually has been around a fair number of horses (and cows and chickens). She more or less completely ignores them – she’s actually somewhat afraid of the cows. And birds in general hold no interest for her.

Wow! LM is gob-smacked! She only ignores things (sort of) when on the lead. 🙂

She’s just got a healthy sense of ‘things that can kick her’ with the cows. As for the birds, I’m pretty sure she just assumes they are all going to fly away before she gets close, so no use chasing them. She hasn’t figured out that not all of them know how to fly.
