Happy 4th of July! See how Choppy and Schooner are celebrating here!
Did you find Choppy on Friday? If not, here’s the answer.
Our last two days of vacation – I’m actually writing this from home (after having failed to post previously thanks to travel). Things will hopefully be getting back to normal around here in the comments over the next couple days (though probably not today, as it’s the 4th of July and I need to go celebrate!).

It was definitely an excellent (and quiet) place for a vacation!

For Sarah & Paul: have fun celebrating “the 4th”! That’s probably why they put the markers on the trail in “Duck, NC”… For people who celebrate a tad tooooo much & can’t remember where they are. Maybe other places could use that great idea! 😝

Ha! That would be an excellent way to find your way home. I feel this is the same reason Hampton Inn has the pictures on all their door numbers – so drunks only have to remember a picture, not a number, when they are stumbling home!

Beautiful walk!
The orange flowers are trumpet vine and the yellow are an ononthera or sundrops.

Thank you! I had no idea what they were (except pretty. That’s not much of an identification).

My favorite photograph is the water and trees reflected almost in a triangular shape! The foam has the illusion of clouds, Sarah. 🙂

That photo turned out far better than expected – it was a happy accident that it is such a good one.

I enjoy the walks on vacation – it’s nice to see a place at the slow pace of walking, rather than driving. Even if it’s just a small area around where you’re staying, it’s a nice change of pace!
