Choppy and I started off the long weekend with a nice, long walk – and I have definitely decided to extend the Dog Walk Challenge beyond May. I just need to decide what the next milestone will be…
Date: May 28, 2016
Location: Home
Length: 2.8 Miles
Who: Sarah & Choppy

Good morning, Sarah,
Extending your challenge certainly is a good idea.
Have a great Memorial Day,
Pit

It can only increase the benefits we’ve gotten after a month – though for our Wisconsin-selves, I am hoping the weather doesn’t get too hot. We don’t do well with that!

Well, what are we here in southern Texas to say about hot weather?! 😉

I don’t know how you handle it!

Looking to up the challenge? How about adding Schooner to the mix, lol. 😉
Joke aside, you could strive for three walks a day, increase the base distance, increase the speed (add in a light jog)…you’ve established such a solid base there are some definite next levels I’m sure you and Choppy could reach with little trouble.

Oh, I like these! I think for now I’m just going to extend the length of the challenge. Next, I think I would up the mileage. We’re already averaging about two miles per day, so it shouldn’t be hard (famous last words…).

I took my pal on a walk yesterday – she enjoyed it! Hope your weekend is happy and safe. 🙂

I am going to assume you enjoyed the walk as well!

Yes, very nice to get out and just walk! 🙂

Awesome! I wonder how many miles you walked in May? Choppy a bit more, because she runs around.

Oh, Choppy definitely gets a lot more miles in than I do!
And I will do a post at the end of the month on how many miles we’ve done. I’m guessing it’s going to be right around 60 when everything is said and done.

You have lovely places to walk 🙂

We most definitely do! Though I will say, I sometimes cut out things like the giant road we walk next to. It’s not the prettiest, though the land around it is quite lovely!

Ah, there’s always something, but as long as most of it is pretty, no problem 🙂

aw poor Choppy, she just wanted to go play… a little mud here, a little mud there, a little mud everywhere! My dog hates the rain. She does not like getting baths either. Somehow though I think she would love mud, lol.

Oh, Choppy hates the rain. Mud puddles and wading are excellent, but rain is apparently water of an unpleasant source (see also, baths).

My guess is – Choppy was finding fun along the way – even without the swim or the bunnies. We doggies have a way of doing that…
Love and licks,
Cupcake

You doggies certainly do find fun everywhere – it is one of your many, many good qualities!

Poor Choppy. Like Genevieve Petrillo said above, I’m sure he enjoyed it without the bunnies and the water. I swear, the picture by the creek looks exactly like a spot on my dad’s property. Glad you decided to extend your challenge. I’m sure you will come up with an appropriate goal – maybe weekly distance?

I think for now I’m just going to do something like aim for 100 days. It’s a lot more difficult, but I think it’s easier with my work schedule right now than to aim for two miles a day or something similar.

No bunnies, no swim….:-( Maybe next time?

Well, she did jump in our pond today, and chased a bunny in the backyard, so I think that made up for it!

Well, at least the walks after that this weekend got better – bunnies were seen! And she jumped in the pond in the backyard (which she is not supposed to do).
