I think it’s something akin to an older/younger sibling relationship. Choppy wants to be left alone, and Schooner just wants to know what Choppy is doing and follow her around.
Trevor is the same with the feral cats we feed. Only this evening, the ginger one was relaxing in the crown of the elder tree, while Trevor was at the bottom, pleading with it to come down and play.
Don’t ask them whether they’re neglected. Choppy would probably suggest she never gets enough treats, and Schooner would suggest that we never let her into the great outdoors!
I always get a smile from your poses, this was so cute, Sarah! I need to practice calling Schooner the cat. Since I usually just say hi to Choppy and the “cat!” Lol 😀
Thank you! And I call him the cat at least 75% of the time. He needs to do more to earn his name. (Of course, I call Choppy by about ten names in real life, and she answers to at least three or four of them, so maybe I’ll just never get over calling him ‘the cat’.)
LOL!

He and Choppy tend to do this a lot – I don’t know how I ended up with two, um, show-offs?

It is – though I don’t know what is going on with them in it. They aren’t usually quite that nice to each other.
