This is true – and she started refusing to go in the kennel at all at some point (it long ago went to a new home, as it was just gathering dust in ours!).

Crating is something that you may wish to work on. She may need to be crated at some point in time to be transported, or she may need a “stay over” at the vets which could involve her being overnight in a crate. Obviously, the moment when this becomes necessary, is much too late to start teaching her that it’s ok.
We have exactly that problem with Ray (complicated with severe separation anxiety), but we are slowly (REALLY slowly) working on him! 🙂

I think we discussed this previously. She’s chill enough that she would probably go in one if I wanted her to do so – and she recently had an all-day stay at the vet with no problem (which I think was since we discussed it). I don’t actually know what they put her in there, but I can’t imagine it’s too large.

She likes having the run of the house – gives her a chance to sleep all the places where she isn’t allowed when we’re home.

Dog jail: never a fun time (even back then, when it was to get her potty trained and make sure she wouldn’t cause too much trouble while I was away).
