I am glad it looks sweet to you – I think she may have been looking forward to the treat she knew she would get after having to pose for a photo. That is something that would make her look sweet (just to make sure she gets it).
As for the cat – yeah, you pretty much summed that up.
I have seen Choppy’s GIMME A TREAT! face, but this was extra sweet – it’s when the eyes sort of go out of focus, as only dogs can do.
Maybe she is starting to like the cat??
I can assume from this that you treat your hedgehog friends better than Choppy treats hers. At least three of Choppy’s hedgehog friends can be described better as “her former hedgehog friends.”
The latter could well have been the case. I like to think that’s every day (but really, who am I kidding? Those two know who runs the show, and it’s not me).
Well, two is a pretty easy number to wrangle. And Choppy will pretty much stay wherever I ask her to, which really means I only have one animal to get in position.
Our first golden retriever just loved his pet cat. They went everywhere together, even on walks. (No leash on the cat.) When they were sitting together, he would even “pet” the cat with his paw. (Cat not thrilled.) And occasionally, when they were cuddled up together, gently mouth the cat’s head, just enough to cover the cat’s ears with a good layer of slobber. (Cat even less thrilled, but would still lay there cuddled up with dog.)
Choppy and Schooner are far from this point still! The cat would really like to go on the walks, though. Apparently he sits and watches us, meowing as he deems necessary until our return (this according to my husband, as I am, obviously, not there to hear it because I am walking the dog).
You’re making my day with the pics today :-).

Yay! I think those are all for today. More tomorrow (including a classic one from last year).

I wouldn’t suggest that to her – though if you can keep a secret, I think this might be true.

Aw. Dogs are pack animals. If the pack has to include a weird looking “puppy”, then so be it. 🙂

Oh, thank you! Double the fun when they are both around (well, maybe not quite double. But something like that).

Typical Dog/Cat pix… dog being baited with food, cat probably glued down or drugged.
However, maybe it was also ‘Make Mom Happy Day’ ? 😉

Choppy is looking so tolerant of that little whippersnapper! (I love that she has her little toy – so sweet!)

Choppy is so, so tolerant. She’s got far more patience than most creatures who have to deal with a family interloper!

I can only get photos of our lot if they’re asleep within a few feet of each other, so that’s pretty damn good! So cute 🙂

But still! Getting a kitten to stay in place (beside a large dog) long enough to take a photo in focus – that’s an achievement 🙂
