For some unknown reason, about a million of my friends on Facebook have posted about hot dog spaghetti over the course of the last few weeks. What is hot dog spaghetti, you ask? It’s spaghetti over which you have threaded a piece of hot dog.

After about the 2,000th post on the stuff, I decided I would make it myself. Because (a) hot dogs, and (b) spaghetti. Obviously, the stuff has to be good.

Here are the hot dogs, cut up and ready to go. The ends went in Choppy's stomach. In retrospect, I would cut these much smaller - maybe four pieces per hot dog (I did two pieces per hot dog).

The spaghetti, ready to go! (Choppy ate none of this).

Here is the spaghetti, threaded with hot dogs. In addition to cutting the hot dogs smaller, I would also only put about four pieces of spaghetti through each one. The more spaghetti in the hot dog, the less it cooked (though I suspect having smaller pieces of hot dog would also help this problem).

The final product, ready for sauce and Parmesan (Paul also recommends red pepper flakes).

The verdict? It’s hot dogs and spaghetti. Obviously, it’s awesome.
