Last week, I found myself in Door County, Wisconsin for a legal conference. If you don’t know where Door County is, it’s the peninsula that sticks out of Wisconsin into Lake Michigan.

Sadly, Choppy couldn’t come to the conference, so she stayed at my parents’ house (which she enjoyed thoroughly, and not just because there is a cat to chase. Though I am sure that played a significant role in her enjoyment of the weekend).
But just because she wasn’t there, doesn’t mean she wasn’t in our thoughts. The Visitors’ Bureau has lots of dog-friendly hotels, and we saw many, many dogs at restaurants, enjoying a meal with their families. There is even a pet-friendly part of their blog, so you can see the many awesome things to do with your pet while there.
All this is to say, next time? Choppy is coming with us.

Keep up with Travels with Choppy on Facebook and Twitter!
Choppy also has her own Facebook, Twitter and Instagram!

Hope your conference went well. Do you find it harder when you leave Chops behind or happier, just been nosy?
Take care Sarah

I like traveling with her – I would take her everywhere if I could. That said, it’s sometimes very hard to travel with her. Hotels don’t take dogs (or don’t take big dogs), I can’t take her out to eat, if it’s hot she can’t stay in the car, etc.
On the other hand, I think Choppy would prefer to stay home and never go on vacation! She is definitely a homebody. But if the choice is stay home without me, or go with me, she would choose the latter (though her first choice would be stay at home with me).
