Paul and I are headed to Kauai in a few days (Choppy has to stay home, but I have a plan to deal with that…which may or may not work out). While we haven’t had the worst winter ever (it’s colder and snowier elsewhere, which is somewhat shocking as we live in Milwaukee), I am still thrilled to be heading to a warmer locale. Here are four reasons why:

Reason 1: It’s cold.

This was the temperature when I went to walk Choppy this morning. On the plus side (the only plus side), we aren't taking the morning walk in the dark any more. It's not enough of a plus side to make me want to stay here.

Reason 2: I mean, it’s really, really cold.

It may have been 2 degrees outside when I walked Choppy, but it felt like -16. As the wind chill will be somewhere around -20 to -29 when I walk her tomorrow morning, this particular temperature was downright balmy.

Reason 3: Cars aren’t supposed to be held together by salt.

Somewhere under this white car is a black paint job. Note: it's too cold to get the car washed, so it's going to look like that for awhile.

Reason 4: I miss my heels.

These are the current everyday shoes around here. I miss my heels. And flip-flops.
