In September 2013, on our way back from Alaska, Choppy and I stopped for the wedding of one of my friends. The wedding was in Butte, Montana, which gave us a chance to explore the beautiful mountains around the city, as well as to have me bemoan the city’s lack of information on native son, Evel Kneivel. Seriously, it was nearly impossible to find anything indicating he was from Butte while I was there. I’m pretty sure nearly any city would be improved by a statue of someone jumping a canyon (or attempting to do so).
[Note to self: perform Internet search to see if such a statue exists anywhere. Then book trip to see said statue immediately]

It was gorgeous – the forest was sparser than what I am used to here in the Midwest. But it was definitely rockier!
