Choppy by Number: 98

One thing people ask me regularly is how many costumes/outfits I have for Choppy. Until recently, I never had an answer for them. Much like my shoes, I figured if I didn’t count them, I could continue thinking that the number I came up with would be reasonable (because, seriously, dogs don’t really need any costumes, let alone the number I have purchased for Choppy over the years.

When Paul moved in, I had to do some closet reshuffling (well, I suppose I didn’t have to do so. But Paul probably wanted somewhere to store his clothing). I ended up condensing two closets into one. The closet where I moved everything to had previously been half full of Choppy’s clothing.

[Note: Yes, Choppy had half of a closet in my house. And I regularly lamented needing more space for her things]

Choppy’s clothing was the victim of this reshuffling. It ended up being put in five large, plastic bins. Unfortunately, it would be almost impossible to find anything in this system, so I ended up making a spreadsheet of her clothing as I packed it in the bins, so I would know where everything was.

The unintended side effect of this? I now know how many outfits I have for Choppy: 98.

[Note: These are specific Choppy outfits – a lot of the time, she is wearing something of mine. Yes, I dress my dog in my own clothing. I’m pretty sure that’s horrifying to some people. Also the fact that my dog has 98 outfits]
