This weekend, we took Choppy to Indianapolis. She spent her time hanging out with Juliet, a longtime dog friend; we went to the zoo. I’m pretty sure everyone had an excellent time.

[Note: There is a video in this post that involves a snake eating a mouse. If you aren’t into snakes or animals eating each other, I recommend that you don’t watch the video]

Choppy has no idea where we are headed. I'm pretty sure she's just happy she isn't stuck at home.

This? This is a happy dog.

And here's why she is happy: her friend Juliet (and my friend Kaylan, who is one of Choppy's all-time favorite people). I'm pretty sure when we left Choppy to go to the zoo, she didn't even notice we had left.

Hello, meerkat.
Hello, very chill meerkat showing off your private parts.

King of the meerkats (and far more modest than the one in the previous two pictures).

The aforementioned video of the snake eating a mouse. It was fascinating to watch, though perhaps the most interesting thing was watching and listening to the kids – they were even more fascinated by the situation. None of them seemed grossed out, just interested in learning about the snake.

Post-zoo, things had not calmed down with Choppy and Juliet (you can see her in the background trying to get a ball that was not on her side of the fence).

After her day of fun/action, it took about two minutes for Choppy to fall asleep in the car. Exhaustion: never a bad thing for a dog.
