From Montana, Choppy and I headed to California for another wedding – after so many miles on the road, it didn’t even seem out-of-the-way. Some pictures from California and the first part of our trip home (and after this, there is only one more day from the trip – then we can start showing off other, more recent pictures!).
The wedding was in Sonoma, and we stopped to take pics next to the Golden Gate Bridge. As you can see from the picture, it was an incredibly warm and clear day. Obviously, this is not a picture with the Golden Gate Bridge in it. But I look better here than in those pics, so you get this one.
I hadn’t seen a scary rest area sign for a while. A creepy sign? Yes. Scary? Not for a while. As some of you may remember, I have already seen this sign. However, that was in New Mexico; this particular sign was somewhere in the Sierra Nevadas. It’s still scary.
I saw this sign in Wyoming. I wondered why they were using these signs for such a warning…
…And then I saw this. Got it. I won’t be picking up any hitchhikers. Had I known the actual story behind the escaped prisoner, I would have been less nonchalant about the whole situation. It turns out, the prisoner escaped at a rest area on the Interstate while being transported. Great, now I have something else to worry about at rest areas.
It is kind of hard to see this, but that pink suitcase is the suitcase I have carried almost the entire year. For months, one of its wheels has been on its last legs. It finally bit the dust only two days from home. Almost perfect timing there, suitcase.
