After leaving Destruction Bay, Choppy and I headed to the Alaskan border. As we approached the border, I could see a haze in the distance. Little did I know things on the trip were about to get much hotter.
After all of the previous day’s troubles getting Choppy to pose, I came up with a way to ensure Choppy looks at the camera. I don’t think Choppy really likes it, though. For some reason, the preferred method of securing toilet paper rolls in this part of the world is a padlock system. Apparently, pit house toilet paper theft runs rampant in the north. After many days on the road, Choppy and I arrived in Alaska! I have now been to 49 states. Choppy is at 36 (and soon to be more).I don’t think this is how the poles are meant to be.As we got into Alaska, the skies grew hazy, and the distinct smell of smoke arose. This (prescient) sign illustrated a forest fire. Which, it turned out, was what Choppy and I were headed straight into.Happily oblivious to the fires, Choppy decided the car was not yet dirty enough, and decided some mud would go well with the car interior.
