Black cats definitely get a bad rap – we had several black cats when I was younger, and they were all good cats. That said, perhaps Choppy should stick with being a dog.

It’s interesting that in England, if a black cat crosses your path, it is considered a sign of good luck. Whatever happened to the poor thing over here (Canada and the US)?

Black cats are harder to rehome to the extent that shelters here run separate adverts for them sometimes. One of our cats was black and her temperament was – variable, let’s say!
