Another week of the Dog Walk Challenge is in the books. No big milestones this week, but that’s part of something like this – you just keep on working at the task, whether or not you’re getting a gold star or hitting milestones.

Thanks! This morning we woke up to snow, and it was definitely a “make an excuse to walk on the treadmill” kind of morning, but I sucked it up and went outside. I’m so glad I did, because we were the first on all of our trails. I love that feeling; it’s like being the first to use the new jar of peanut butter. Definitely glad I avoided the excuse not to walk!

I love walking in the virgin snow. There is just something about it. Glad you didn’t give in to the temptation to stay indoors.

Thanks! We’re lucky not to have that much snow so far this year, though the cold has kept us on the treadmill a few days. My sister sent pics of Minneapolis this morning – it looked like a snowy mess.

It was..well it is still a snowy mess. I have never seen so much snow in my life until last night. It was my knee-deep snow last night – about Dante doggie’s chest…the crazy thing is, he loves the snow that deep.. 😀

I think most dogs do enjoy the snow – Choppy goes out there and rolls around in it all the time. It’s like she can’t help but enjoy it.

Leading the way! Nice, woodland path. It’s great you have undeveloped land to walk through – clears the head, soothes for the soul.

This is one of my favorite places to walk – it’s actually mountain biking trails – you can see one to the upper right in the picture. Choppy isn’t allowed on those, unfortunately, but there is another path through the middle of the woods where she isn’t in danger of being run over by a bike so it’s OK (not that I have ever actually seen anyone in there, but I have seen tracks so I know they do get used).

Thanks! That was over the weekend – most of that snow melted the same day I took the picture, but we got another few inches last night (hence the previous comment about the new snow).

Stunning pic Sarah, love the paw prints in the snow. Looks so peaceful. Both you and Choppy are doing great ! That weather will hopefully be changing soon, so the walks can become more enjoyable 🙂

I’m looking forward to warmer days. Right now, we’re starting to get the first bit of the sunrise at the end of our morning walk, which is a wonderful change from the darkness we’ve had for a couple months now.
