I know some of you are bemoaning the lack of daylight at the end of the day, but with the time change came the first morning walks with sunlight in a long time for Choppy and me. It has been a welcome change from our starlit walks!

Not the happiest look this one has ever given me.

We’re all getting used to it (though I, for one, am doing great with it!).

She needs something to eat. In most of the dog food is Taurine, something like amphetamines. Our former cat was once a time fed with dog food, and Voilá he “drives” with much more power. LOL

I’ve never heard of this before – usually here, you have to keep the dogs away from the cat food, and the cats want nothing to do with the dog food.

Mornings coming late here. I am up and ready to be out the door, stars still in sky. I can well imagine your and Choppy’s delight for more light at dusk. I do find a great sense of peace in the rhythm of the seasonal cycles of light .

We’ll be back to walking under the stars soon enough. Thankfully, only about six weeks until our days start getting longer again!

Morning light for another few more weeks! I read an article yesterday about the folks of Tromso, Norway, who have 3 months of no sun. Surprisingly, they have low depression rates, studies concluded it is their ‘mindset’ which focuses on the advantages of the ‘blue time’ of twilight only. Guess I could learn something from them!

I have Hammerfest, Norway, most northern city in the world, on my Yahoo weather app, to remind me of how others are getting thru the winter…yup, very little, then no 🌞

Actually, I did some research…not the very most northern, but it’s “way up there! “

This is a good idea! I could put somewhere in the Yukon on as well – near where the coldest temperature ever in North America was recorded. That will probably make me feel good, even on the worst days!

So could I! Last winter was probably the best winter I can remember since I was a kid. I think a lot of it has to do with actually getting outside for a walk every day. Even when the walks are dark, it feels good to be outside and breathe in that fresh air.

I so agree. And once out there, you think, “Why was I dragging my feet? It’s awesome out here!” (Except, of course, when it is minus digits -hehe!)

There is definitely a limit to the temperature at which I can enjoy it, but we’re not even close to that yet – very thankfully!

It’s a look of bewilderment. “You mean we’re actually walking in sunlight?” Way to go.

If you could see me in the picture, the expression would say the same thing.

It’s interesting how different the daylight/night time hours are in the world.

Even going a small distance makes a change – we spend a lot of time on the western side of the Eastern Time Zone, and it’s a major change this time of year, as it still stays light relatively late compared to us.

I think Choppy preferred the stars. Just kidding. I’m sure she is trying to figure out why you were an hour late for your walk.

She has seemed to be getting up a lot easier for the later walks – not that she’s hopping out of bed at the still-early hour, it’s just not the chore it was before the weekend!

I’m with Choppy. Who wants to get up early? Especially to go for a walk.

Schooner is cool with it – but then again, he’s pretty much nocturnal, so that makes sense. It’s still night when these walks start.
