Chase that bunny, chase that bunny

It’s all fun and games until someone comes upon the baby bunny nest.

Poor Choppy, going down the rabbit hole again.

Definitely not for the last time, either.

LOL. So she’s a repeat offender, is she?

A repeat and continuing offender.

Bunnies dare not look at Choppy, but apparently are mini-horses galloping out of sight in no time. Another reason why I must double my intake of carrots; courtesy bunnies!!

Once they leave Choppy’s sight, it’s like they are gone forever – she’s right on to looking for the next one.

NO MORE BUNNIES, CHOPPY ❗️❗️❗️

I know!! No repeats of previous incidents! (Only, I can’t get her to stop looking for them.)

It’s nature. I don’t think it is possible to make them stop looking. I’ve heard it is possible to make them quit chasing, but Tippy and I don’t believe it. 😉

It was on both counts! And then he ran into the field and was forgotten.

I don’t think that Bunny was the brightest in the litter……or……maybe just very trusting….usually 2 sides to the story 😁

I think he’s probably future hawk/coyote food.

Right?! Like, if you’re getting that close to a dog, what do you expect might happen?

That one was close. It was lucky that you had Choppy on the leash. Sometimes, I think they sit still, thinking they can’t be seen unless they move, which is often the case. This one, however, was NOT in the best spot to be camouflaged.

Choppy wasn’t going to miss this one. She used to miss many of them when they didn’t move, but over the years, she has definitely gotten better at seeing them when they aren’t moving (even the ones which aren’t as non-camouflaged as this one).

Until it isn’t – and then I have an injured arm from Choppy attempting to bound after it!

Oh, dear, did you get hurt? Elbow at hip for these situations! Wren was not leash-trained when we got her and she got me good those first few days. I soon learned how to protect myself. Luckily, she figured things out.

She’s not as bad as I sometimes say/think she is. When I had her in training, the trainer seemed to see that Choppy was not a dog who was going to be easily leash-trained, so she got me a specific harness to stop her pulling. It worked wonders immediately, and I never walk Choppy without it (because she immediately starts pulling if you do). Sometimes, though, she seems to forget that I’m on the other end of the leash and takes off. Thankfully, I can usually see when it’s about to happen and prepare (because 90% of the time, it happens because of a rabbit).
